Yesterday I’ve visited the final fashion show at the Academy of Arts called “Yard”. As far as I recall shows in these place were always a bit strange and this one wasn’t an exception.
We arrived early and spent about an hour standing in the yard and drinking wine, which allowed us to feel the atmosphere. In the hall was very hot and in the middle of the square podium there was a big pile of dirt. No one seemed to be bothered, indeed there is nothing unusual, as the dirt created a feeling that we were sitting in the yard, which was the title of the show.
Then the fun began. The rain came, something has started to stir in the pile and for the next 15 minutes in front of the eyes of the astonished audience three people was moving in the dirt; like the plants they grew up and began to make strange movements, accompanied by the creepy music. If there were 5 people it would look like a painting by Matisse, but in any case, everything that was happening surprised me. I would like to note that all the time guests greedily were filming and taking photos of this performance, so that soon it will be possible to fully assess all the action.
After that the fashion show itself began and it lasted for at least next 2 hours. I can’t say that I liked the clothes, the quality of the fabric very disappointed me, but on the other hand I’ve found a lot of separate elements of the clothes very interesting.
For example, hats that reminded me of the Pope and the Van Gogh’s painting.
What is strange is that I thought of Van Gogh several times during the fashion show and eventually I even found his ear!
One of the last show was memorable due to its hats; some people said that they look like floor lamps, but personally I think that they look like round tables covered with black clothes. I took a picture and was horrified – the name of the collection “Did someone famous die?” and dirt made an impression that the model is going to check whether there is really someone dead buried in the ground or it is just a dirty.

At the end, the guy in completely white suit came out and dived straight into the dirt. Judging by his face I could say that he liked it, and I can only be happy for him and for all the designers who have successfully finished the year!
